Movement to Work is a registered UK charity and voluntary coalition of employers, partners and government, working together to break that cycle.
We connect organisations like yours with motivated young people aged 16–30, and we do it entirely free of charge, due to our unique secondment model. We're here because we believe business has a vital role to play in levelling the playing field for young people.
On one side is our Youth Engagement Network (YEN) - a community of training providers and youth outreach organisations who identify and prepare talented, but often overlooked young people, who are ready to work.
On the other, employers like you, who have the opportunity, resource and the desire to make a difference.
Movement to Work sits in the middle - connecting young people with opportunity - building the relationships, removing the friction and making every collaboration as effective as possible.
We'll work with employers to find the best solution for their organisation - either in-house, through their own resource, or via a training provider that supports them in delivering their programme(s).
Every employer in our network gets a dedicated account manager from day one. They'll help you shape or refresh your programme, connect you with the right youth partners, and make sure you're getting the most from everything the Movement has to offer.
We also connect employers with each other - because some of the most powerful outcomes happen when businesses collaborate. Through our peer forums, events and regional YouthPath partnerships, employers share best practice, co-create programmes and reach more young people together than they could alone.
Every service below is included - 100% free for every organisation that joins the Movement.
Since 2013, Movement to Work has delivered more than 250,000 opportunities for young people across the UK - from work experience to apprenticeships and even permanent employment.
In 2024–25 alone, we delivered 79,000 opportunities, with 84% leading to a positive outcome: a young person moving into employment, further education or training.
That collective effort has generated an estimated £262 million in gross value added to the UK economy, with a further £35 million saved in public spending.
Behind every number is a young person who deserves a chance.
* Positive outcomes include young people securing employment, progressing into further education, or training. Data covers the period January 2024 to December 2025
Movement to Work operates differently from most charities - in order to provide our free service, we operate a secondment model, powered by our Steering Group (SG).
Talented individuals seconded from our (SG) bring their skills, energy and expertise to the Movement for a fixed period - typically between 6 months and 2 years.
This constant flow of fresh talent means our team is always evolving - bringing new industry perspectives, ideas and relationships to the organisation.
At the heart of Movement to Work is our Steering Group; a collective of senior leaders from the public, private and third sectors, united by a shared commitment to creating systemic change and levelling the playing field for young people.
Steering Group members don't just lend their name to the Movement, they provide strategic direction, share expertise, open doors and, crucially, second members of their teams to help run the charity. It's this model that keeps MtW independent, free and focused entirely on impact.
