Movement to Work is excited to bring YouthPath to Greater Manchester, in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

Movement to Work is excited to bring YouthPath to Greater Manchester – an ambitious initiative delivered in partnership with the GMCA.

YouthPath supports local employers to create meaningful employment pathways for young people aged 16–30 who are currently not in education, employment or training. These pathways include work experience, apprenticeships and job opportunities, helping to tackle youth unemployment and close critical skills gaps across the city region.

Almost one million young people across the UK are classified as NEET and in Greater Manchester, around 4,000 young people aged 16–17 are not in education, employment or training. YouthPath forms part of the GMCA’s ambition to ensure that every young person has a clear line of sight into a good job.

Greater Manchester has set out its plan to reindustrialise the region, with a focus on five global growth sectors. By supporting young people who are currently out of education, training or work, YouthPath will help ensure those growing up in the city region to benefit from new opportunities, while also helping employers build stronger local talent pipelines.

As part of the launch, GMCA, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Transport for Greater Manchester were the first employers to pledge their support, creating pathways into work and training across the public sector.

If you’re an employer in Greater Manchester, now is the time to get involved. Join a growing coalition of organisations working with us to open doors for young people, strengthen communities, and build the future workforce.
